Aeon should pull out of Myanmar and not prop up the Military Junta directly or indirectly.
WoodyLee
So the junta kidnapped him, then had a fake trial, then got paid for his release.

Obviously the bribe, sorry the bail was handsomely paid, and that's the end of the story.
A nice information would have been who payed all those money and how much.

How very convenient, its almost like the Japanese government had a chat about future aid, loans and investment and the Myanmar regime let him go.

Say what you will about the Military Junta, however, if a foreigner was arrested for price fixing in Japan they'd still be in jail on rolling 23 day prosecutor detention unless a confession was coerced.
CAPTAIN
Do Myanmar had their own little Ghosn incident.
Anyway he should leave ASAP!

Do you actually think Japan sides with the West on Myanmar?? Not even close. The Japanese have been one of the biggest backers of the military government in Myanmar, providing billions in ODA money while keeping quiet about human rights issues (except when one of their own happens to be nabbed), and Japanese businesses have been falling over one another to try and get a foothold in the market.

If this happens in some rich countries would some posters be writing about money and bribery? Shallow shallow shallow...
