I know that if you have a car and go have a night out with some friends and one of them have drugs but doesn't tell you, in case of a police stop and search you will see your car arrested. One my also use you for a drug deliver without you knowing and a bust get you in jail for long. 79 years old was toasted by some pick up artist. Bad luck he was in China.

Alan Harrison, I think it is more probable that the Nigerian was in fact a Japanese gangster.

Accepting a suitcase from a Nigerian man and bring it to China can only be suspicious. Was this guy in need for money

He wasn't bringing the suitcase to China. He was - allegedly - bringing it to Japan. The Nigerian likely has connections to Japanese drug-dealing gangsters.

Wherever you are in the world, never ever pool somebody elses luggage. Everybody is asked at check in "Did you pack your bags yourself"? Has your luggage been left unattended at any point"?

He has had a trail in the PRC which would probably have been more fair than any trail that a foreigner would get in Japan.

I don’t know what a “stimulate”, but if it is Meth, then at least a few peoples lives won’t be destroyed by this dangerous drug. For him, money for victims, misery and possible death.

Sounds like a stitch up. This old man was likely senile and hadn't a clue about anything he was doing. I doubt he even knew he was in China.

I trust the Chinese authorities have located and prosecuted the Nigerian Prince - he is the mastermind.

I am sure he was just a naive person who wanted to do good.

Where is that Nigerian in China (name, position, whereabojts...) ? He is the first guilty person.

Japanese old man was just the smuggler.

Good for Japan and China, justice served.

Everyone knows that accepting a suitcase from anyone without knowing what's in it is either Stupid or Wrong. even if that was the case the Chinese court rejected the defense claim for the simple fact it was a LIE.

Come on, just take responsibility Sakuragi-san. At least own it and show a hint of honour. A Nigerian prince, indeed.
