Japanese actress Mariko Ishihara caught shoplifting

Police in Tokyo are questioning Japanese actress Mariko Ishihara, 53, on suspicion of stealing a bento (boxed lunch) and several food items from a convenience store in Tokyo.

According to police reports, the incident occurred on July 22 when Ishihara was in a convenience store in Sumida Ward. She attempted to leave the store without paying for the bento and a bottle of tea, Fuji TV reported. A clerk who witnessed the alleged shoplifting notified police by phone, and the actress was apprehended and taken to the police station.

Police said Ishihara has admitted to the allegation but has not yet been charged.

In her acting career, Ishihara was notorious for losing her temper and was publicly called "looney" and “an actress who can’t control her short fuse” in the media. However, in recent years, she has dropped out of view.

Japanese female actresses make very little money even when they are employed.

When they are dumped by their agency they have no other skills so it's really kinda sad.

Well, you can rest assured that there will be no suspended sentence, because they won't even bother to charge her.
