My insight is, if you do not want that to happen, do not enter barbaric states. Period.

You have such a big brain. Better use it.

"Japan should press the Philippines government and ask why Japanese men are being targeted in Philippines regularly. A temporary visa ban will get the Philippines government moving."

Probably because they are men involved in organised crime and up to no good mixing with other people involved in organized crime and up to no good.

And maybe the Philippines should press Japan about all the women lured here into the sex trade!

"Lured"!

I BELIEVE THIS IS A POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC STRATEGY OF CHINA TO SHOOO AWAY JAPAN INVESTMENT IN THE PHILIPPINES SO THEY COULD BE THE SOLE COUNTRY TO DO BUSINESS...

Most recently the Philippines announced the soon signing of Metro Manila Subway System project which planned to be completed in 2024 while China sign a deal to do the Mindanao Circumferential 700 Kilometer Railway project...

The competition of Japan and China in the Philippines could be the reason of this incident.. It is just too easy for China to hire killers and ride on the riding in tandemn criminals and killed the Japanese business man to shoooo them away from doing projects in the Philippines.. Ask China about this.. for sure the trust rating of china in the Philippines would plunged to the lowest level again.

My friend went to Manila recently for business and the driver of the company's car immediately showed him where the hand gun is located is stored in case he needed it.

These kind of news stories had my adrenaline up when I did a 24 hour stopover there last year. All I met though were friendly people and returned to Japan in one piece. The machine gun toting security guards at the supermarket had me a little surprised though.

This was a crime syndicate member from Japan killed by a rival gang in Manila over a deal gone bad. A convoy of four vans? He was not your ordinary " Japanese businessman." Welcome to the underworld. Read the article again.

Except they might be in for a share. Or worse. The only "safe" action would be avoiding the place until it crumbles under itself or is reborn like a phoenix. Or a foreign invervention with an aim to purge all the evil inside their society. First two look more realistic to me.

Last August it was reported

The BBC's Jonathan Head explores the Philippines' dark underbelly of police raids, dealers and assassins ... Maria, not her real name, now carries out contract killings as part of the government-sanctioned war on drugs.

If the BBC can locate contract killers, a step in the right direction would be that the Manila Police stop paying them to do the gutter work.

Well, if you have a chance of being shot by a hired killer in a state where supposedly law prevails? Yes. Common sense dictates so.

"whose company makes parts for pachinko machines." Can someone remind me who runs most if not all the pachinko's?... Getting the dirty work done overseas COULD be the case, and at a much lower price.
