APT32 has been on the rise with many cyber attacks. Vietnamese are building their own auto industry, so they need all the helps that they can get.

Word on the net is that it’s a ransomware attack. Be careful opening your file attachments and unknown emails, everyone.

The virus is thought to be what’s known as the “Snake” ransomware. This kind of attack involves a hacker encrypting a company’s files to hold them hostage, and then offering to decrypt them in exchange for money.

Attacks like this are problems for the business if they don't have daily, automatic, versioned, "pulled", backups. Never use directly connected or network mounted storage for backups. The server must "pull" the backups from the clients, preferably using an encrypted, client/server architecture. Backup servers need to be on protected networks that don't allow high-risk systems access.

Disruption of manufacturing control systems and business financial

systems would be the big issues to get resolved. Too much networking is

the new liability for manufacturers.

i have a 19 yr old Honda. Don't really worry about that data being public since almost all of it is public govt record, already.
