Japanese exec gets 7 1/2 years in prison for raping co-worker in New York hotel

Not sure I entirely apptrove of the comments that seem to admire the aspect of the US prison system that involves other inmates bullying/abusing/etc people locked up there.  Yes, he deserves to be piunished by the State, but why should that include being brutalized by other criminals?

Totally agree with Wkarimasen. Prison rape is not a good thing. Justice should be handled through the Justice system.

He's going to get passed around like a Christmas Ham in an American. 7 1/2 years of that.... he deserves every second of it.

This is a good lesson in justice for Japan. Had he been tried in his native country he would've gotten a suspended sentance, at best. American courts know how to serve justice.

In Japan I wonder if he would even have been charged.

I bet the drugging would carry more serious charges than the rape part.

I completely agree. It seems to be a thing to joke about being raped in prison. Not only is this an abhorrent thing to wish on another human, it dehumanizes the person making such comments, as much as it does the prisoners.

I think the comments regarding this justice being served is more of a reflection of how people are fed up with people in power and executives using the   'being drunk as an excuse' to committing rape and getting off scot free than celebrating him potentially getting raped in prison, but thanks for being so concerned for this pathetic excuse of a man.

It doesn’t work in japan either. Being drunk would never get him out of punishment.

if its just prison rape he will be lucky, then again who cares they are criminals...
