I like this guy. How is this a crime again? Those trees are hundreds of years old. I’m sure they’ll survive one nail in the trunk.

i dont understand this "activism".

did they wanted to appear in TV or online as great supporters of Ukraine? If yes they could do something else, collect clothes, money whatever and send to red cross etc.so goods may reach these in need.

but this childish BS?

Hay, it was worth a shot.

Maybe, with any luck, it'll work.

Give it some time.

What is so "sacred" about this tree? Because someone said it was?

Power spot maybe?

Its always amusing to see people warming their hands and trying to get power from those places.

Those who are wishing for the demise of Putin, hear ye! Putin will meet his doom on the mountains of Israel when he lead a coalition of nations to invade Israel for a spOIL. We can begin the countdown because the EU, Egypt and Israel have signed an energy deal up to 2050 ditching Russian oil supply in favor of Israel’s. That is the hook in his jaw that will bring him to the mountains of Israel where we will practically fight against the supernatural.

Dude give it a rest. Nobody believes this BULL

Sacred tree it glows in the dark, do you know nothing? Just surviving for that long makes it sacred, guessing a nail not going to kill it, spells invocation of ethereal entities praying have yet to see it work? But I will pray for it again and again and again.

Would he have been arrested if he'd just used duct-tape, or blu-tak, or maybe tied on with a red-ribbon......

No, no, no. Not a ribbon!

An image of "nail on the doll" has an enormous psychological impact on the person targeted, something similar to a crucifixion. Ribbon does not have such an impact.

someone who has a weak character:

He was accused by his opponents of being a man of straw and lacking in decisiveness.

Whatever else he may be, Putin’s hardly a man of straw. Those hoping to bring him down are going to have to do better than straw man arguments that have been used throughout history in polemical debate, particularly regarding highly charged emotional subjects.

Will they remove the Z from the shrine name

He wasn’t a woman, wasn’t wearing the right clothes, and it probably wasn’t done for seven days in a row. As with all things, technique is important. Okay,, and yes, messing up sacred trees while trying to curse someone isn’t environmentally sound.

Sometimes you just have to think outside to the box, just to throw the over-zealous officialdom

Well it doesn't seem to have worked so far.

Pity.

One can only hope it works.

… suspected of property damage and trespassing …

So nailing Putin straw dolls to trees would apparently be fine as long as you own the trees.

So this chap got arrested for a doll?

This tells us so much how little common sense is here.

He should get a medal.

This is word for word what I was about to write lol

"It's unthinkable that someone would nail down something like this in a place where people come to pray for good health."

Except that Ushi no toki mairi, in which a straw doll was nailed to a holy tree at a shrine, was a tradition in Japan.
