One gram of cocaine of pure cocaine in japan turns into 3 grams of street cocaine at 300 a gram but 4 dollars a gram in Colombia so do that math decent payout and maybe he did it a few times already and it worked

Your math is wrong on the conversion after cutting. You are also quoting street prices that only idiots pay.

Funny at the people who think legalizing cocaine is a good idea. Hysterical utopia you want to live in.

He deserved it

Toasted Heretic

He didn't bring in poison. Unless the product was cut badly, of course. He tried to bring in (currently) proscribed recreational substances.

This guy was a JACKASS alright he swallowed 246 packets of cocaine and it killed him, yeah it was Poison.

Their is no thing recreational about ingesting something into your body that has the potential to end your life / kill you. You pay a high price when your in the drug business and this guy is a prime example of the price some people pay.

"That probably was 246 condoms..."

There were no condoms; the cocaine packets each measured 10mm x 25mm.

This guy was a JACKASS who died in route from point "A" to point "B" and didn't deliver. I bet he won't try this stupid stunt again.

Unlikely, as he's dead.

I don't feel sorry for the guy he bringing poison into Japan and in turn the Poison killed him.

The term "MULE" has been used a few times. A mule is a person that transports drugs from point "A" to point "B" without any problems. This guy was a JACKASS who died in route from point "A" to point "B" and didn't deliver. I bet he won't try this stupid stunt again. I don't feel sorry for the guy he bringing poison into Japan and in turn the Poison killed him. ~(U)~

Legalize all drugs and then we won't have tragedies like this happening.

RIP to the latest victim of the drugs trade.

One thing is for sure,..he definitely has his privacy protected..'Undo 'N',..?? Maybe he has some relatives who run certain banks in japan and/or are in powerful places.

YubaruMay 27 07:36 pm JSTThere isnt a lucrative cocaine market in Japan. If he didnt die, he would get 40 years in prison in Japan anyway.

Dude you got your head in the sand. There is a lucrative drug market in Japan, and how do you know he would have gotten 40 years? If the packages had not broken inside him, he very well could have made it into the country and make a shitload of money in the process.

Big money! There's an audience for coke and other heavy drugs around the world. This guy was certainly a mule - probably working for the yakuza alright. They're into dirty deeds like this, are they not?

Yakuza distribute meth and cocaine for richer customers

I'm sorry, I should show some respect for the importer of illegal drugs. I'm sure the 246 packets were just for personal use. RIP Fine Sir.

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

Good riddance.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Good! Think of how many people he saved by dying with all those doses inside him.

Why would he do this? There isnt a lucrative cocaine market in Japan.

You obviously never worked in finance in Tokyo. Some nights it felt like I was back in South Beach. You could get it from the Yak’s, Israelies (they delivered and best quality) or the Nigerians off the street in Roppongi (worst quality and most dangerous transaction). You’d be surprised how much shabu is being consumed in Tokyo every weekend.

definitely mule.. but a bit strange... i am sure they have perfected that game by now....

200 tablets would be about 2200 grams, according to Popular Science. So closer to 17,600,000 yen, given mph-1212's valuation of 8000 yen per gram.

Slightly old but applicable. Yes a very stupid thing to do in hindsight.

How are you so well informed on this ? You need to read up on this topic,

I hope he was listening to Buck Cherry "lit up" on his walkman

There isnt a lucrative cocaine market in Japan.

If these were gram sized packets or larger, then it could have easily been lucrative. Some people use coke on a regular basis in Japan. 246 grams, likely over 8,000yen/gram and you're talking close to 2 million. Probably not his first time carrying and definitely not a good way to go out.

@zichi - Stupid beyond whatever he thought the problems of his life were and should stand has a strong warning to others but sadly it won't and one day another will happen again.

Yes, I agree it is stupid. However, we are not aware of any extenuating circumstances. He could very easily have been blackmailed into couriering the drugs or threats could have been made against his family. I guess we will never know.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

I can't imagine the horror the guy went through in his final hour.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Someone had to count the packets, really?

You’d have to be very dedicated to your job....

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Has he wanted to become a mule?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

I believe justice has been served.

-4 ( +4 / -8 )

People still do this?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

And today’s Darwin Award goes to..............

10 ( +10 / -0 )

Paying debt? Easy money?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

it's good that he ate them and didn't eat them the other way around LUL

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

Are we sure they're not saying eating / swallow because the alternative of inserting them in a body cavity is too offensive

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

"eating 246 cocaine packets"?

That would be worse than airline food...

How about we revise that to "swallowing 246 cocaine packets"?

22 ( +23 / -1 )

really stupid RIP

2 ( +3 / -1 )

What a stupid, stupid, way to go. I wonder if he was doing it on his own, or was forced into the situation.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

One of the dangers of being a mule I guess one of the packets broke open
