How much donation is required for one time counselling?

Some venerable practicing Buddhists give their advice and opinions online for free.

@sakurasuki

You seem not to understand the meaning but also the meaning of donation you seem not to understand. Donation is voluntary.

Good for him.

It's hard for elders to understand but how about people in their 30s, 40s falling victims to the most ridiculous kinds of scams? Doesn't matter if its someone promising you surreal interests, a fishy phone call or the guy offering you paper tissues in the middle of the mall, it's just so easy to avoid any kind of problem when you see the world with different eyes, conversations are a waste of time, they are all after 1 thing only.

Be cautious all your life, ask advice to someone trustworthy in all cases for any serious amount.

If you have not learned your lesson when you are old, nothing can be done and you should never hold tens of million yens at home.

Don't feel regret also, it is just pieces of paper after all.

Lose money, get a monk friend.

There needs to be a TV campaign warning vulnerable families with old people.

Too many are easily caught. Surprisingly even well-educated ones like doctors and professors.

There is. Even convenience store clerks are getting training. And there is a train and poster campaign too.

Be wary of charlatans.

Interesting that the first comment is "How much?" Perhaps the poster is confusing these well meaning monks with the psych industry. Shinohara-san is not doing this on an hourly rate basis. He's doing it to help. This is a wonderful thing, please don't degrade it.

Counseling is after the fact. How about putting some time and money into educating the elderly so they don’t fall into this trap in the first place.

Losing 30 million yen is enough for a family to freeze out their grandmother?
