As soon are drugs are found in the person then the house is searched...

The prosecutors recommended two years in prison and If that had happened it would have been a waste of tax payers money and needless destruction of a life. Politicians and businessmen do more damage to society all the time and never spend time in prison. Time to reform your legal system Japan.

That's a semi fair ruling, in that drug possession for personal use should never get to court in the first place, his Career was fine, his health is apparently good, no violence, theft. It's the quirky laws that need suspending.

The government needs to get out of our veins. Glad he won't serve prison time.

He's been doing drugs for 30 years(!) and yet he only had them because he hadn't disposed of them yet?!

And once again, one set of rules for politicians and celebrities, another for everyone else.

He's got a record and is a repeat offender! The govt needs to pull its head out of its arse.

I could easily tell that he was still using drugs all this time.
Look at how jacked up his teeth are. It usually a clear sign of usage of certain kinds of drugs.

""His defense team had asked for a suspended sentence, saying he had remained in possession of the drugs only because he had yet to discard them.""

What makes you think that this wouldn’t happen for a normal person as well? How do you qualify this being special rules - what data are you comparing it to, to declare it as such?

Believe it or not, some people actually have drugs lying around. And usually they are stored somewhere out of sight and mind.
What makes you think this guy didn’t just forget to throw away the empty containers of these drugs?
