Jilted man kidnaps ex-girlfriend's daughter

Police said Tuesday they have arrested a man for allegedly kidnapping the 3-year-old daughter of his ex-girlfriend from a Tachikawa apartment.

According to police, the suspect, identified as Toshiji Matsuo, 34, was charged with abduction of a minor after he illegally entered the apartment of his ex-girlfriend, a woman in her 20s. He told police he got in via the balcony at around 10:40 p.m. on Sunday and took her daughter, TBS reported.

A police manhunt was launched, following which the man was found with the girl in his car in a convenience store car park in Kunitachi. Police say Matsuo locked the car doors and refused to surrender himself to police. Officers smashed one of the car windows to rescue the girl. Police say the infant was uninjured in the incident.

During police questioning, Matsuo was quoted by police as saying, "That woman had been ignoring me and I wanted her back, so I took her daughter."

This is a great way to prove the wisdom of the woman in dumping your sorry behind, if this is the way you think!

Where does it say she's 20? And yes, nothing makes a women want to get back with a guy like breaking into her place, stealing her kid and being arrested. Oh my heart is a flutter now. Idiot.

" Oh my heart is a flutter now. "

LOL, yeah, I can see his line of thought: "Flowers? Na.. Chocolate? Na... Romantic dinner?...nah, that is so ordinary. No, I´ll break into her house and kidnap her daughter. Then she will really like me!"

Wow, I bet she isn't ignoring him now.

Give this dangerous kidnapper 20 years hard labour to think about his actions.

Why are women attracted to creeps like this?

I wonder about people's future time orientation. Did this guy actually think that it would turn out well? I would just love to see the thought process laid out in a timeline to see what happens in these people's heads.

Ten licks of the cat, then a salt-rub.

Seems like just about every week for the last month or so, someone is getting snatched or almost snatched.

Glad the daughter was found unharmed! And glad her mom was smart enough to ignore this loser!

Yeah, ok, that's a plan that's going to work.

TokyoGas- The majority of all types of crimes occur with banal regularity. You don't hear about it for the very reason it is frequenct. It probably only seems like it is happening more recently. What's on in the news is just what "makes" a good story, or what's needed, or whatever they decide to feed you just because.

A 20 year old girl single mum with a three year old kid? And, the lunatic BF is 34? Just these facts alone point to a disaster in the making.

Except you're incorrect on the facts. The mother is twenty-something. She could be 29 year's old. If so, then she had the child at age 26 or so and that's only a five-year difference in ages between her and the moron ex-boyfriend.

Sounds like she got a clue about this guy and tried to distance her family from him. Some guys just don't take a hint, though.

Wait, they smashed the door? Weren't they worried that the guy might do something stupid after they smashed his car door?

I hope this loser stalker gets a few months in the pen and that he is hit a restraining order so he can never annoy this kid again.

Is it love that makes us do stupid things?

"3-year-old daughter"

"abduction of a minor"

She's a minor all right.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Yes, it happens. More or less frequent? Less, actually. Just more coverage. But the problem is not, as Disillusion-chan says, that she dated an older man; The problem is the man being so uneducated about relations that he thinks abduction is "a good idea." He learned that from parents, pachiko-mentality, and from sex-education-by-hen-na-manga-and-etchi-anime.

Girls! You need to sexually educate the boys better and more often! Reward them (;-) for good behaviour!

I think part of the issue here is the whole "If I continue to hunt/stalk they'll love me mentality" that is present in Japan for both men AND women. The said thing is, sometimes it works which is why people continue to do this. Think of all the crazy stories you hear from foreign guys and girls about such things and how we see this odd and many Japanese see it as "romantic". No thanks.
