Justice ministry worker arrested for taking photos up woman's skirt on train

Police said Saturday they have arrested a 31-year-old employee of the Ministry of Justice for photographing up a woman's skirt on a train in Tokyo.

According to police, the suspect, Yuki Ide, was caught in the act, using his smartphone to photograph up a woman's skirt on the JR Yamanote line between Ikebukuro and Sugamo stations on Jan 29.

Fuji TV quoted police as saying that Ide admitted to the charge and told them: "It's true. I absolutely loved the woman's legs, I just had to get a photo."

Police said Ide had been arrested for a similar crime a year before.

Why risk your freedom for something so stupid?

I absolutely loved the woman’s legs, I just had to get a photo.”

Did he film up her skirt or just her legs?

I have to admit I do feel some sympathy for guys like this. Seems there are more than just a few. I wish we men had a body part that would mesmerize, hypnotize and entice women like crazy. But then if we flaunted it in public I am sure it would be demanded that we cover up.

Does the government not check the backgrounds of these people?

Matthew, Most likely Ide was working at the Ministry of Justice a year ago. Possilby he could/should have been fired at that time but wasn't.

He works for the Criminal Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Justice. Will this mean the end of his career?

That is so wrong for a man to do that to a lady. What has happened to respect of one's rights?

I have a weakness to the eyes of a lady, however, it has never lead to the point of taking pictures.

Obviously the justice ministry overlooked his last transgression.

How can we trust the courts and cops when they're overseen by the likes of this?

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Honestly Ide... there are plenty of pictures of womens legs and other body parts all over the internet.

Being fired from his job would not have cured him of taking up skirt pictures, but getting him some counselling the first time might heave helped.

Firing him the first time would have just lead to an unemployed up skirt picture taker instead of a contributor to the tax regime.

The proper protocol would be to strike up a conversation with her and ask her to dinner. Is that so hard?

I think he was doing a quality assurance check of the criminal system to see if it is really working according to established standards. That is all he had to say.

It never ceases to amaze me just how popular this kind of behaviour is in japan. It also amazes me just how many public servant and law officials get busted for it. No wonder this country is in such a mess. The male public servants spend ost of their time with their fist in their crotch instead of doing their job!

I don't see how a photograph of a woman's leg is worth throwing away your career. Just buy a porn mag and be done with it.

@ sugarbowl

I would be very interested to know your opinion if it were you this man was taking pictures of, maybe in a bathroom or bath. Would you be so forgiving if it were your private areas he was photographing and using for personal use, or perhaps putting up online for others to see?

You mentioned that you wish men had this sort of desirable feature...but if it were other men who lusted after it, would you still feel the same?

I've thought about taking pics of woman secretly before, but didn't because I have a conscience and a respect for people's privacy. Yes, I know, I'm a freak of nature.

an example of crazy people! :)

Perhaps it is time for some creative approaches to fighting both the general attitude, and the specific drive, that leads to this sort of behaviour. Imagine if the government, or the train companies, were to hire a large number of female impersonators to spend time in these public spaces. Individuals like the one they caught would likely stop after a couple of shots of the 'wrong' sort of 'legs', something that it seems merely being caught doing the act doesn't accomplish. And the signals to society that public support and acceptance of cross dressing that the hiring would send would also go a long way to shaking up the general attitude that allows these guys to think that women's bodies are there for their enjoyment without the consent of the woman involved.

The perp said "I absolutely loved the woman’s legs, I just had to get a photo.”

SB asked : Did he film up her skirt or just her legs?

then SB added: ''I have to admit I do feel some sympathy for guys like this. Seems there are more than just a few. I wish we men had a body part that would mesmerize, hypnotize and entice women like crazy. But then if we flaunted it in public I am sure it would be demanded that we cover up.''

Part of the blame for this IS fashion designers and pop culture that puts women in short skirts and makes fetishes out out their legs and cleavage etc, and we can blame both male fashion designers and female fashion designers for this stuff, and in addition to blaming perps like the 31 year old JustMin dude arrested for using his camera in the wrong way, totally uncalled for, we can also blame women for following the fashion bandwagon and wearing such skimpy clothing in public. Women should wear pants or long skirts. Men can look but shouldnt snap fotos without permission or asking first. AND YES if men found that women were sticking cameras in their pants, men's pants, and snapping photos of their balls and dicks, for sure there would be an uproar and such photo snapping would be banned. When men start showing dick cleavage and ball cleavage in public, and maybe gay men do i am not sure, but we are going to far. In the privacy of home, all is okay. But on trains and at work, cover up girls and boys. Life is not a fashion show. SIGH

Because you are not pervert, unlike some people who admire this guy's action.

My guess is that Justice Dept either demanded his resignation or fired him after this scandal reported on media news,

You know one day, I just wonder how it would be if someone actually tried tapping the girl lightly on the shoulder and saying "excuse me, I know this sounds weird, but you have the most incredible legs - would you mind if I just snapped a picture of them? They really are beautiful!" what reaction he would get. I would be quite complimented actually!

@bathaliwB: Your supposition may occur: :) By then, girls probably learned women;s defence method of female ninja in mangas/ Kunoichi. Ku meand nine. Ichi means one. There are 9 places in body Ninja women attacked back. One is male private part. Others, two eyes, two ears, nose, navel, back,, mouth total 9. Too gross, but such rude men may wind up in hospital. Women are tame now but old time, .... We learned Kunoichi in elementary school to fight back rude military men, WW II time.

Hahaha...... It's for justice!

Guys, it's just panchira, it's nothing.

Gals, it's just panchira, no biggie.

Yes, that's how he got the job!! If he was a groper, he'd have qualified for the police force...

I do not understand this particular predilection. If he wants to see a woman's panties, just go to the beach in the summer time.

Maybe there is more to this problem than that.

Think the police should just do the following

Get the perp to make an apology

Pay a fine and/or do community service.

Warning for the first time, harsher punishments (as in this clown's case) the second. A good kicking in a back room might have the desired effect.

Happens too often in Japan and too frequently a government employee, usually cop or similar. ridiculous fetish.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I will never understand the appeal of taking photos of girls' panties in a sneaky, perverted manner like that - or taking photos of panties at all. And why does it always seem to be the police or some other sicko working in a government office (either central or local)?
