"Bullying and sexual abuse of people including actors and staff", assisted suicide of parents to escape from the shame he was gonna cause, ... what a shameless piece of work is Ennosuke! Wonder if the abuse will be followed up too.

So is he in jail or on bail.

"So is he in jail or on bail."

Arrested usually means in custody, and Japanese news only shows old videos of him in public appearances. They spared him the Asian perp walk covering his face.

The sad irony here is that he wanted to avoid shame and humiliation and by his own actions the result is a 1000% worse and he cannot easily commit suicide in custody.

The couple was later pronounced dead, with their deaths attributed to a drug overdose, in what is believed to have been a family suicide pact, an investigative source said.

According to the one guy that is still living. This looks like a plain old murder. He even covered their heads with a plastic bag and threw out the evidence. It will be interesting to see where this goes.

Ennosuke's manager found the parents collapsed in their home's second-floor living room around 10:15 a.m.

That won't be good for the value of the house.

Oh, I am sorry, kaimycahl, perhaps you are a fan and maybe new to this site, where we all speculate a bit and rely on past experience too. Strange how he "allegedly helped" them take their own lives at the same time the news of his shameful behaviour appeared. No connection? I mean to say, he seemed to believe the news about abusing others that would be revealed was true. This will get bigger, I have no doubt. The expressions you use from the article above are the usual way the police frame it (though of course in Japanese) and Kyodo report it. Police tend not to make any definitive statements even when it is blatantly obvious (gas explosion? "Police suspect there was a gas explosion") and here they are justifying two arrests, probably 23 days apart, as is usual, to maximise interrogation time.

@ Moonraker Really? DO you live in their home? Quick to make judgements but don't have all the facts. Ichikawa Ennosuke, 47, was served a fresh arrest Tuesday for allegedly helping his father take his own life in mid-May, police said, following an earlier arrest on suspicion of aiding his mother's suicide.

If he's on bail it might be dangerous for him to live alone. It turns out to be depression or suicide?

Much better if his inside they can look and check his mental condition

The bigger, actual reason is likely the financial fallout which is attributed by the aforementioned scandals. The Kabuki industry has been greatly struggling financially for a long time. If their family is filthy rich like Hollywood stars or Chinese stars, then they would not give a damn if he is in a scandal.

The greater reason must be the financial issues coming from the scandals and the terrible state of Kabuki industry.
