Why do bad dodgy people go to places with stacks of cash where they can be extradited? Surely Liberia would be better.

Nothing says I'm guilty more than fleeing the jurisdiction.

Fraud in real estate in Japan? How unusual, NOT! I bought an apartment in Japan over ten years ago. I was flabbergasted by all the additional ‘money for nothing’ fees that were tagged into the original price. A hundred bucks here, a few hundred bucks there, a thousand bucks here. All these ‘mystery’ fees adds up to well over $10,000 (¥1 million). And anybody who has ever rented a place in Japan knows there are a few thousand dollars that are mystery gift payments that you will never see again. The whole real estate is a shoddy and fraudulent system that is designed to take money for nothing.

This whole case is brilliant.

The fact that Sekisui house is so lacking in due diligence that they will pay 5.5Bn yen to someone who doesn’t even own the land they are selling - hard not to laugh.

Kaminsukasu was arrested after being detained in Manila in December. He fled to the Philippines a few days before eight members of the group were apprehended in October.

Now that's what I would call a flight risk.
