"People who are under psychological stress need to seek professional advice at designated service windows instead of trusting just anyone via the internet," Sugihara warned.

Japan is the fifth country for me to experience residence and it is by far the worst for mental health issues that I have experienced...

@kurisupisu

There is a lot of denial in Japan when it comes to mental health issues. It first starts with parents that don't want to accept so they place their children in disadvantageous situations such as normal schools or not allowing them to get the help they need from a young age. Then the society also won't acknowledge that something is wrong with someone and wouldn't push them receive the help that they need.

I would suggest that most serial killers use "counseling techniques" of one type or another to lure their victims!

Don't know why this is being identified as being anything special here, unless it's just looking to rationalize the acts.

Lock him up for life or put him to death. He’s a menace who enjoys killing.

Can’t have him walking around.

Ted Bundy worked at a suicide hotline.

This guy is a sociopath who needs to be permanently

kept away from normal people.

Compared to crazy nutjobs that attack random people when drunk, emotionally triggered or depressed, those pre-meditated killers are even more dangerous. If authorities would want to step up their security efforts to prevent killers such as this, they should really look out for people like this. Who knows how many people this guy could've killed if he wasn't caught. The Counselor of Death is what I'll call him

The girls came to his place to die and got what they wanted, obviously the guy deserves a harsh punishment for murder, but it's not like they didn't know what they were getting themselves into.

@nakanoguy

What he is doing isn't special or new. Many people that abuse, use, or murder people use a form of psychology that they have learned through trial and error. Some people actually study it. The only thing rare about him is that he targeted people that wanted to commit suicide. His techniques are not special or rare. Very average with most creeps. Not just creeps but normal people.

Also, most serial killer don't randomly pick their victims. They are actually selected. Most serial killers are drawn to a certain type.

Uh, to everyone saying they got what they wanted, they expected to die, not also be raped. Are ya'll just skipping over that part?

My goodness you are off the mark.

Even if someone contemplates suicide, do you think that if they were lured somewhere, raped, and killed (probably horrifically)...you are gunna assume that they “knew what they were getting into”

Ah...lure is something you do to trick people. If someone wants a sandwich and you take them to get a sandwich and that's it you didn't lure them. By the article they had clear and open agreements....zero tricks.

I am sorry. I failed the brainwashing program again didn't I?

What normal guy doesn' try to lure women ?

Ok not for same purpose but it is exact same technique : gain trust.

This guy is indeed a sociopath, especially if he helped killing kids.

So disgusting.

I lived right there at the base of the hill at Zama Station...this guy was right there in the neighborhood

Don't know why this is being identified as being anything special here, unless it's just looking to rationalize the acts.

Or, it's fascinating given the general lack of knowledge regarding counseling/mental health in this country.

you're not talking about serial killers. you are talking about simple murder.

and i never said that no one has ever used this technique. yubaru said that "most serial killers" use this technique. i beg to differ. i said only a handful out of hundreds of serial killers have used this technique. so beside ted bundy, can people make a case that "most," which would imply over %50,  serial killers use this technique?  some serious reading  comprehension problems here.

out of the hundreds of serial killers, can you even name more than a handful that have used this technique? i'd say this is extremely rare and that MOST serial killers randomly pick their victims and don't spend a lot of time getting to know them, like this guy did.
