Two men this morning forced their way into a Kitakyushu residence belonging to an elderly man and stole 20 million yen in cash on Thursday morning, police said.
According to police, the two men broke into the home of a 78-year-old construction company manager in Wakamatsu Ward at around 2 a.m., Fuji TV reported. They woke the man up and threatened to kill him, police said. The pair punched the man in the face, bound his arms and legs with adhesive tape, and then stole 20 million yen from his safe.
One of the men was described as being between 35 and 40 years of age and of stocky build. The other was described as slim and aged between 20 and 30. According to police, both men were wearing ski masks to hide their identities.© Japan Today
