Police said they received a call at around 9:30 p.m. Monday, saying that a man was lying on the road, Fuji TV reported. Police said the man, who is in his 80s, was drunk when they found him. The man said something about his son being at home. As police were taking him home, the man fell down, injuring his head and lost consciousness. After taking him to hospital, police then visited his apartment on the 5th floor of a condominium in Kohinata, where they discovered a male corpse inside, lying on a futon with his upper body unclothed. While there were no visible signs of external injuries, police said the corpse was already decomposing.
