Man admits to assaulting girls 'about 70 times'

Police on Tuesday arrested a 29-year-old construction worker for attempted rape after he assaulted a local high school student. During questioning, the man admitted to having committed similar crimes "about 70 times," police said.

Yutaka Sano, a resident of Yokohama, is suspected of assaulting a 3rd year high school student in a park in Aoba Ward in May 2008, threatening the girl, "If you make a sound, I'll kill you." Police tested body fluid found at the scene and matched it to Sano's DNA.

According to police, Sano admits to the charges. He was quoted as saying: "In the past 5 years I've done it about 70 times, to girls in elementary through high school."

This is the type of sex offender that needs to be sent to the state-prison just like San Quentin.

He sounds monstrous. But I can't understand why he's blurted this out. It's like he's asking all the victims to point the finger so he can get a lifetime of 'delicious' prison food.

Or have the cops leant on him to say this?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

simply horrible... I can understand hitting on HS chicks, but going that far... And with elementary school/JHS kids? He should have fun in prison

I say general population at San Quentin, or any other extreme maximum security facility in the US. He'll "feel" the pain of all those poor children.

Ciao

This guy should be castrated then sentanced to, as was suggested, 70 years in prison!

Pedophiles don't last long in American prisons because even some hard core murderers facing life in prison have daughters. 'Nuff said.

@Fadamor- Yes sir. Thats what i said, he wouldn't last but a day and then they can ship his body back to japan for whatever...

Yuck, feel sick in the a.m. again.

@Fadamor

I'm liking your posts more and more. Your patience is noteworthy if you were able to decypher this post.

What a sick joke, blah, blah, blah...

I would hope that they keep this guy locked up for a long time. Maybe one year per crime? I doubt it, but that is the only way I think people will be safe in the long run.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Why wasn't he caught after the first? Bad police-work? Victims lack of trust in the system? Faults in Japan's laws regarding these extremely serious offenses? Women's rights=second rights?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Ivan... two words, and the first is "premature". You can probably fill in the second.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I don't understand this.

It was an attempted rape. Not a rape, but an attempted rape.

Yet

Police tested body fluid found at the scene and matched it to Sano’s DNA

He didn't rape her, but the police found his body fluid? How come?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

If they got incriminating DNA from this attack, odds are they have DNA from other attacks that they can match to him as well. That's one less sicko walking the streets. Kudos to the police in catching him!

Pedophiles don't last long in American prisons because even some hard core murderers facing life in prison have daughters. 'Nuff said.

I dont believe him..70 times? thats once amonth over 5 years?? possible yes..plausible,no

he could claim 700 but can only be convicted for the one they have evidence of...so why not set a record while your getting busted

Definitely a sicko anyway...lock him in a chastity belt and throw away the key

That's part of the problem of livin' in a shame society. Folks know they can get away with a whole bunch of evileness.

On the other, a number of first-world Western societies could up the shame in theirs to their societal benefit.

“In the past 5 years I’ve done it about 70 times, to girls in elementary through high school.” Good admission for prosecution. Now give him to me for five minutes alone in a dark room and than take him straight to gallows!!!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

This guy is sick.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

70 times?? Sounds like 1 sick and twisted b@st@ard! He needs the DEATH PENALTY! Too late to try to reform a hentai perv! Just let him hang!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Just a minute... We don't want him.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Yes, send him to the states, and there you can solve crime with physical violence. And 'paedophile' is not the correct term. 'Paedophile' refers to pre-pubescents. At 18, the girl is unlikely to be a pre-puubescent. Pervert would be more accurate.

LoveUSA, these abnormal sexual acts will never be eradicated.

You might start with punishment first, and second, toward medication.

If the child abuse causes death of the child we should, of course, look toward the death penalty.

I would be careful about that confession – it could just as easily have been me, as I have been known to clear my throat in public places (not a frequent occurrence), have cut a finger once or twice, and may have even disposed of a drink container. This article is not sufficiently specific on body fluids found at the scene – heck, he could have urinated from all we know and there might be nothing to link that with the reported attempted rape other than a confession.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

It is good that police caught a pedofile oofender but there are more to be caught. It is obligation of the people to erradicate this abnormal sexual attacts.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Another pedofile. Japanese police shall really take actions against pedofiles. Every person should watch out for these criminals and inform police about their unacceptable behavior.

Bonym,

You need to get out of Tokyo. You've been there about 20 years too long, methinks. Pop on out to Western Japan, like the Chugoku region, for example. Your perception of Japan will experience a quantum shift. I guarantee it.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

...elementary?!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Send this guy to the states, there he will know what its like to touch someone's daughter....just like the rest of the pervs out there that get caught and get thrown in prison with men that have committed crimes, but that care about the welfare of children in general!....Punk!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

my gut tells me that bamboohat is right. this guy is probably talking big knowing that he can not be connected to any other crimes. just another incredibly lonely social misfit frustrated to the point of acting out.... just speculation though ; )

I don't recall seeing anything in the news over the past few years about elementary school students in Kanangawa being raped. Are these 70 representative of the large number of rapes that simply go unreported in Japan?

From what I understand these sorts of crimes are very much unreported, so I wouldn't be surprised if few - or any - of his other victims hadn't reported a crime.

I suspect there's a lot of shame in being a victim of such an assault, and shame makes people do irrational things.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I understand all those parents who didn't report the crimes against their children. Here the victim gets teared up from police no less than the criminal. They ask all personal data for few generations back. And it is very likely those family's friends to start being alienated to them as well all kids in the school acting differently to the victim. This is their own right to report or not.

In the end I am glad this case was reported - kudos to this brave girl and her parents!

Maybe he left a cigarette.

Mittsu,

Whatever local wives/girlfriends/friends say, your own experiences should tell you that Japan is a pretty safe country, no?

I agree entirely, but that doesn't excuse this, nor does it mean society should take a lax view towards crimes like this when they obviously still exist. Resting on the laurels of being “safer” than Country-X, Y, or Z has always been a failing of Japanese society, IMO, as it inspires complacency and laziness.

For all the relative safety of living in Japanese society, the truth remains that sexual assault is vastly under-reported here, with some victims groups estimating the number at ten times higher than what is reported by the National Police Agency. Even the police admit that the 40 jump in sex-related crimes from 1997 to 2001 was more likely due to an increase in victims’ willingness to report crimes that to any actual increase in incidents. In other words, rape has always been happening in large numbers, but society just doesn’t know or doesn’t want to know about it.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Mittsu - Me - small town USA - Cannot get much safer. 0 tolerance for violence in schools. Yes, issues but addressed right away. Here the training ground is the schools and bullying. No issues but many crimes against the meek. In this situation, it just continued into adulthood. What a trail of crimes this man has which are never counted because the crimes were overlooked, just like in the schools. What price are you willing to pay for harmony? Whose harmony is it? Very superficial and my father-in-law (Japanese) would tell you that.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Glad they got him, however the extent of his crimes only came to light through a confession (typically). - This is only one fiend. How many more thousands are lurking around? Without generalizing to include all Jp men there is a serious sickness within this society in regards to how women are seen and treated. Just last night I was watching two 40 something Japanese men on the train checking out a junior high school girl and their comments were extremely offensive, sick and disgusting. There were talking about her private parts and discussing the size of her parts and what they would like to do to her. Of course the girl got off the train at the following station and I was ready to throw the two %#holes off the train while it was moving. But, it would have been me that was in the wrong. And, they didn't seem to be drunk just #%holes!

Sick s.o.b. How did the police narrow it down to him? And what of his 70 victims? I don't recall seeing anything in the news over the past few years about elementary school students in Kanangawa being raped. Are these 70 representative of the large number of rapes that simply go unreported in Japan?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Whatever local wives/girlfriends/friends say, your own experiences should tell you that Japan is a pretty safe country, no? i certainly haven't seen/experienced a fraction of the crimes i used to in my previous country.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I couldn't agree more OneForAll, I seriously doubt that Japan is safe as people claim it to be. My wife, is Japanese, and she thinks Japan is a seriously unsafe country. I've heard so many stories about the police just meeting their monthly quotas and turning a blind eye to the rest.

But in this case, "... about 70 times" is just mindboggling. It certainly must show how much crime goes unreported in this country. Glad I don't have children here.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I hope the girls come forward to speak out againist this POS.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil". How much crime is there really in Japan? How safe is it really? This story is scary for the silence and resignation of the population.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Why only now he gets caught. The Japanese and their shame thing when it comes to reporting one of their own.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The dude might be lying his arse off to cover the fact the first time he tried ANYTHING with a girl she rejected him all the way to the cop shop.

Hopefully this is the case, it would be terrible to think this has been going on and these poor girls have been too scared to come forward.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

In the past 5 years I’ve done it about 70 times, to girls in elementary through high school.

And are we hearing about it only now - once someone has been arrested? Or have the police been publicising that a serial attacker was preying on school girls?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

This has trouble written all over it. The police should do everything possible to fit this guy up before there is a murder. Put him away and throw away the key.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sano, you sick XXXX.... get yourself castrated.
