Man and daughter die in apparent murder-suicide

A man and his daughter were found dead Sunday in their Yokohama home in what police believe was a murder-suicide.

Police received an emergency call at around 11:30 p.m. from the deceased man's eldest son reporting that he had found the bodies of his father and sister in their home. According to police, the 76-year-old man was found in his bed having sustained a stab wound to his abdomen. His eldest daughter, 40, was found dead hanging by her neck. In front of the Buddhist altar, police found a note reading, "I am sorry to cause you such trouble."

According to police, there were no signs of a struggle at the scene. Furthermore, police say the deceased suffered from a stroke around two months ago which left him in need of full-time care. Police suspect the pressure caused by her father's physical immobility may have been a contributing factor that led to the apparent murder suicide.

Sigh....

I don't know which is sadder--when people die of natural disasters or when they take their lives because they feel trapped by their circumstances in life.

I'm so sorry that the victim's adult daughter felt so overwhelmed with caring for her father 24/7 (assuming that was the case). There are so many unknown variables here to be able to fairly access the situation. May they both rest in peace.

Another day in Japan. Another 100 suicides. Shoganai!

I guess they were stressed out. The daughter felt much pain to see his father suffering in great agony. And maybe she didn't have anyone to support and encourage her to move on with life. One of the main reason for high suicide rate in Japan I think has something to do with the cold society and stressed lifestyles.

Neither. The part that they are gone is sad for us becuase we won't enjoy their presence anymore, but them being fired or resigned by themselves matters less. They must have believed that they are solving the problem by this act and we can only hope it was right decision. I'm saying that because we don't know what's waiting us on the other side.

@Darnien15 " I'm saying that because we don't know what's waiting us on the other side." I think nothing is on the other side...

sucide isn't an option for you, nobody has right to do so cause life isn't controled by any body, human has to accept any impact in his life till it is the day to leave life.who commit sucide shall go to hell fire as it is stated in islam

If the father was so sick, couldn't he just killed himself quietly with out bothering the rest of the family?? This just sounds too strange for me. RIP??
