Police in Kasukabe, Saitama Prefecture, have arrested a 56-year-old man over the death of a 73-year-old man whose body was found on an empty plot of land in Fujioka, Gunma Prefecture.

According to police, the suspect, Yoshihiro Miyaguchi, has been charged with abandoning the body of an acquaintance, Masumi Morishige, who was last seen on Feb 3, Fuji TV reported. His body was found partially buried on the empty lot on April 15.

Police suspect Miyaguchi, who is unemployed, buried Morishige's body on the vacant land sometime between Feb 3 and April 8. Miyaguchi has denied any involvement in Morishige's death, police said.

Morishige was last seen by a deliveryman at around noon on Feb 3. His son notified police after he was unable to contact him.

Police said their investigation revealed that Morishige and Miyaguchi had some financial dealings and believe there may have been some trouble between the two over money.

Money causes people to do stupid stuff.

So, very sad....

While a good number of murders are caused over money issues, I sure hope that they have more concrete evidence that links Miyaguchi to the crime. Motive is not evidence. Nor should forced confessions, which may soon follow in this story.

Well he buried the body in secret, that is very incriminating. Usually when you find a body you call the police or an ambulance. How can he logically explain his actions?
