Yoga violence: surely a first.
edojin
Now, hopefully, he can practice his yoga in a prison cell. Where do these nutjobs come from ... ??
nath
It sounds more like he was arrested for getting violent and confrontational than because he was doing yoga and meditating. The article title would lead you to think otherwise though.

@Sense
Nah dog Dhalsim gives killer noogies

LOL. good one.

I think he was doing yoga in the anti-universe. Things are opposite there.
Can't blame him for not wanting the food service though. It is horrible on that flight. Plus they wake you up and make you move your seat up so the person behind can eat better. WELL, I paid for the seat and the pitch. I refuse to shift it.

Top of stupidity ....

If you fly follow the flight crews instructions! Also, do not threaten to kill anyone!!! Keep your cool and just chill and relax and enjoy the flight!
Now if you want to end up getting a lot of attention, do the following:
Refuse to follow the orders of the flight crew. Start pushing air shoving people Threaten the safety of the other passengers. Bite or try to head but people.Basically, doing 1~4 will get you lots of attention!
You will get arrested! You will get your day in court. You'll be in the news! Everyone who reads about you will think, "What an idiot or dumb ass!"And I am really thinking #4 right now...

That would be because they WERE ordering him back to his seat. One of the things you implicitly agree to by purchasing and submitting a ticket for a flight is that you will obey the instructions of the flight crew. Intentionally ignoring the flight crew's instructions is a crime.
This (if true) probably had the most to do with the incident:

Asian airlines may be tolerant to some of this behavior but he was still within the US when he did this. Guess who's going to jail in US now?

As he's a farmer of advanced age most likely from the countryside it's quite likely he's not used to interacting with people of different nationalities (least of which Japanese).
Also as he's 72 he would've been through the Korean War, so no telling what he's been through (more bombs were dropped on the peninsula than in the entire Pacific theater of WWII, tens of thousands of ROK citizens were illegally executed by ROK authorities, and overall more citizens died than in any conflict the US has ever been involved in).
Put all that into blender, hem him in a tiny space, order him back to said space, and watch wacky drama ensue.

So, this is what 'flying' Yoga means :)

About 50 Okinawa-based Marines were on the flight, which had no air marshal. The Marines responded to flight attendant request for assistance and managed to restrain this man "without a scratch":

Good point about U.S. Marines.... when things get ugly, you thank God they're around. No matter where they are, if they see someone needs help they put their life on the line if need be.

After forty years of marriage, that kinda makes sense...

glad that Yoga is working out for him. Seems to really make him relax.
