Man arrested after driving car into koban

Police in Kishiwada, Osaka Prefecture, on Monday arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of violating the Road Traffic Law after he drove his car into the front of a koban (police) box late Sunday night.

Police said Nobuhiro Maruyama, who is self-employed, also faces a drunk driving charge, Sankei Shimbun reported. The incident occurred at around 11:30 p.m. Sunday. Maruyama’s car crashed into the front of the koban, which was unmanned at the time.

Maruyama's six-year-old daughter and five-year-old son were in the back seat of the car, but neither of them were injured.

Poor kids. I don't even feel comfortable having my kid in a car being drive by someone who's had a single drink, much less is drunk.

Glad the kids were safe. The ultimate middle finger to the police.

I had a good joke about this, but then I saw his kids were in the car. Poor kids. What an awful childhood to endure.

Kids: "Dad, we said drive to the koban and turn yourself in, not drive 'into' the koban!"

Dad: "D'Oh!"

You can't make this stuff up... glad the kids are safe, and that dad is going to lose his license.

How many hours of driver education will that involve?
