Man arrested after locking himself in Kumamoto apartment toilet for two hours

entered the unlocked sixth-floor apartment at about 10 a.m. and asked the 23-year-old postgraduate student to let him hide in the apartment. He then entered the toilet and locked it. The student called police at about 11.40 a.m.

Hour forty minutes. That's a long time sitting around wondering what to do with a goofball professor locked in your toilet. Kid must've been thinking:

"Damn, he really has a long one..."

What a very strange story. What was the teacher hiding from? An angry wife or enraged lover? Why not just check in to a hotel? Or maybe he was being chased by the Yakuza because of unpaid gambling debts.

I hope the police thought to check in on the wife.

Seriously sounds like he was hiding from someone or he was screwing around with a girl in the building, got caught and was hiding.

Why does everyone say all the scary, criminal stuff. I think he was too tired of life and amidst all that he saw or heard something that he never expected. He just did not know what to do and just started acting wierd. If people who have almost everything in life do not know how to live a good life, and start doing wierd stuff, what do you expect from a hardworking and nice teacher. Leave him alone.

I agree with DarkKnightNine. Next thing you know they'll be reporting that the reason he was hiding from the police was because his wife is dead.

Okay, I have to know -- WHY did the student wait almost two hours before calling the cops? I don't know about anyone else, but if some stranger came barging into my room and asked to hide in the bathroom, I'd be on the phone with the cops lickity split. But to then WAIT two hours before finally saying something? Um... what?

At least his record will read tresspassing as opposed to locking himself in a toilet for 2.5 hours. Unhinged a little bit you think?
