Police in Tokyo have arrested a man in his 20s after he sent a knife to the Imperial Household Agency.

According to police and the agency, the knife, which had a 17-cm-long blade, arrived in a letter pack at around on 10:45 a.m. on June 25, Kyodo News reported. A letter was also included, which police said was incomprehensible.

The man, who is a part-time worker, included his name and address on the letter pack which was mailed on June 24. Police said he has admitted to the charge but has been rambling since his arrest on Wednesday.

I was thinking that there are many worse options to send in the mail.

The last time someone sent the knife was to Prince Hisato's school desk. Alarming.

Remind me never to send a knife to anyone as a gift around here.

I don't see what the point was.

After relentless questioning, the police will be able to poke a hole in his story.
