A 30-year-old man was arrested Friday by Mie police for allegedly beating his 4-year-old daughter. According to police, the suspect, identified as Ryuji Osaki, a truck driver from Suzuka City, is suspected of ramming his second daughter into the wall and abusing her in other ways, causing a rupture in her right kidney.
After Osaki took the girl to a hospital on Friday, the local children's welfare center informed and contacted police. Osaki has admitted to the charges, police said.

Isn't a little daughter every father's angel??????? At least, my husband treats our little daughter like an angel, and should be like that in every family.

Pass me those electrodes, would you? Now if you'd just like to drop your trousers, Mr. Osaki, this might smart a bit.

As I type this our 5 year old daughter is sitting wrapped up in daddys arms on the sofa munching on toast and watching TV. He is turning a blind eye to the crumbs all over the sofa (he wouldnt do that for our son!) and is pausing occasionally only to kiss the top of her head.
I look at this. And then I think about this little 4 year old and her "Daddy". It makes me sick to my stomach.

Disgusting. Next thing you know he'll make an emotional "iwake" (lame excuse) like "my parents were hard on me..." blah blah blah. MAN UP and be father. I wonder what the conviction will be, if any.

poor little mite ... hopefully she will go to a home where someone can love her as she should be loved. but probably not.

Jail time coming up on this.

This scum deserves life without parole and a daily waterboarding. He is a prime example of all that is wrong in Japanese society these days.

where do these whackos get the notion that child abuse only happens in Japan? to the contrary, I would say that j kids are far more doted on that US kids. the local govts here provide free prenatal counseling, free classes in child rearing, cooking for your family, stress management etc. just what more can the jgovt do
this is indeed a sad, sad story but sitting around and throwing the guy under the bus will not bring change. only you can bring change thru action. solid action like forming relationships with your children's friends parents, forming relationships with your neighbors. people learn thru example. anyone willing to step up and be more than a mouth? we get enough men to man up and love their neighbors and things might change.

Any father that beats (especially injures) his child deserves to be thrown under the bus. As a father, I easily have the sentimental right to play armchair judge and jury.
Irrespective of the family sevices offered here (or any country), there are some that will raise a hand against women and children. But certainly those services and friendly support can help change that. There's no need to "man up" to give friendly support.
But whining 20 and 30 year old men need to use a little more intestinal fortitude to deal with life's up's and down's before beating dependant, helpless children. Again, pathetic.

causing a rupture in her right kidney?!! Many scary stories everyday. This safe-country? is going down the drain rapidly, faster than the shinkansen.

Or maybe someone should drive a truck over this truck driver. Seriously though, abuse is a cycle so the one abusing has often been abused.
idicemic
True, dolphingirl. It's up to adults to own their responsibility, that is, mindfully stop the abusive cycle that can perpetuate itself. Sadly this man didn't. Now his daughter is injured physically and emotionally. The father needs counseling, but he also should also pay a price for his action. The tragedy of child abuse plays well beyond the incomprehensible act: healing needs time (for the family), and incarceration may be just what is needed to knock sense into the father.

I can't imagine what kind of person that beats their own child to death. I have a 6 year old son he's kinda annoying, too loud and demanding but never in our minds/ideas( my hubby) to beat him just to discipline and straighten him up.
