Shizuoka Prefectural Police have arrested a man in his 20s on suspicion of assaulting his elementary school daughter by kicking her in the stomach.
Police have not released the name of the suspect, a company employee who was arrested on Thursday, Sankei Shimbun reported. Police said he is accused of kicking his daughter at their home at around 9 p.m. on June 3. Police said the girl’s injuries took about two weeks to heal.
According to police, the child told her teacher on June 8 that her father had kicked her. The school notified a child welfare center which contacted police. The girl was taken into temporary protective custody but returned home.© Japan Today
