Only the head????

Bizarre!!!!

I was unfortunate enough to visit the Seoul meat market a few years ago

If you're going to kill an animal, take it all. Most of an animal can be made into food, most of the time.

How bizarre! - OMC

Or...

They were in the process of removing the bits they didn't want and were looking to make off with some prime steaks...Costco might have been easier

These people must think if there is an animal wandering around without an owner then it must be wild. Otherwise a grudge against the owner. Female cows head is not good for a ritual, it has to be a bull. The leg baffles me, unless a roast leg of beef....

The number of foreign criminals is on the rise these days, so of course they would be suspicious.

Domestic criminals still count the highest, not foreign criminals. While most foreigners that have trouble with law most likely because visa violation.

Moreover, if there is blood on the bicycle, a decent policeman would investigate.

It supposed to be only investigate, not arrest were made.

Don't talk about confession or anything off-base.

Confession is common in Japan, whether person that being arrested is really did or not that doesn't matter. It's easy to search about this from past stories.

But of course we must not forget that being foreign is going to be the second biggest check against them

Seems like they were trying to bring the cow (Kuroge Wagyu btw) with them but gave up and tried to slaughter it on spot (to sell the expensive meat perhaps?). The head was found nearby.

Bizarre to say the least.

charges based on suspicion of violating the animal law.

The "animal law?"

When was the cow due to go to slaughter? I'm sure that is the farmer's beef.

Before people start jumping onto what might be the wrong conclusion like the police have, let's remember that we don't have anywhere near enough information here.

Something similar happened a few years ago in Gifu where a Vietnamese man stole and killed a goat that was being used to cut the grass.

one of its cows having died apparently during dismemberment.

I am scratching my head about this phrase. Are they saying the perps started to saw piece of the cow before killing it?

Only the head????

Bizarre!!!!

I was unfortunate enough to visit the Seoul meat market a few years ago, the sight of dozens of cow heads in a box gave me nightmares for some time.

They could’ve been using it for some weird sacrificial rite. The head of a living cow could have been a part of it.

Some people place a cattle skull on a pentagram for 'satanic' rituals, or just to be smart alecks.

Actually, this case is that of a Filipino Godfather.

1.8 m is just the body length from breast to rear, apparently. This cow was said to be worth 700,000 JPY.

The police did not reveal whether or not the suspect has admitted to the charge.

No clear charges were mentioned by the article. Its probably going to be property damage, trespassing and theft.

one of its cows having died apparently during dismemberment.

They have no idea how the cow died but its far more likely they killed the cow first thing otherwise there would have been a hell of a noise and two dudes with a lot of injuries.

Wait, how do they sure they got the right suspect, only because there is a blood stain on his bike?

Well, it was 4 a.m. , they were out and about, and one of the guys fled from police. But of course we must not forget that being foreign is going to be the second biggest check against them in the minds of police after the blood.

Where are those missing cow parts? Where are the tools?

Searching for those is what an investigation is for. There is enough there for an investigation to happen. But concerning tools, a knife is enough.

Jobless? Hungry? Some unusual skills?

police received a report from the ranch about one of its cows having died apparently during dismemberment.

Yea that usually happens with most advanced organism that have a head removed. And what the hell happened to that right forefoot. Sure would like to know the motive.

Barbacoa. Cow had more brains than these two. Deport them after emptying their bank accounts to pay damages.

IF they are guilty of this, I highly doubt they have any cash in the first place. If they did, they could have bought one at a slaughter house.

A dead horse’s head in the bed. I just remembered a scene from God Father part 1.

"died during dismemberment"

So they were hacking at it to try to kill it. imagine the terror and pain.

Par for the course for animal slaughter globally.

allegedly stealing the head of a cow after killing the animal at a ranch

The officer found a blood stain on Galindo's bicycle, and some two hours later,

The body of the 500-kilogram, 4-year-old cow was found just outside the ranch's fence with its head and right foreleg missing.

Wait, how do they sure they got the right suspect, only because there is a blood stain on his bike? Where are those missing cow parts? Where are the tools?

did not reveal whether or not the suspect has admitted to the charge.

So they just arrest him indefinitely until they get confession?

I don’t want to know what they did with the head.
