Police in Sapporo have arrested a 40-year-old man on suspicion of sexually assaulting a woman in her 20s at his apartment in March.

Police said the suspect, who claims to be a self-employed resident of Chuo Ward, called out to the woman who was walking by his apartment and pretended to ask for directions at about 3:30 p.m. on March 20, broadcaster NTV reported. He is alleged to have forcibly taken the woman into his apartment where he kissed her, groped her breasts and placed his hands inside her underwear.

The woman broke free and fled the apartment and filed a criminal complaint with police.

Police said the man has denied the allegation.

No need for asking directions. He will be chauffeured to prison and gets a new compass for life there.

Wow! What could possibly go wrong with that pick up plan. I am always amazed at usually men who completely self sabotage their lives.
