Sexual assault is not right, but you can kind of see where some of us are weaker than others.

While it is good to know that you're gaining awareness of sexual assault as an issue, and are supportive to your gf after her ordeals, you still need to think more about the issue.

It's not a matter of these men being "weak" and unable to control their sexual urges. It's about men not caring to control their sexual urges because they don't see women as people whom they need to respect. They see women as inferior, weak, and as sexual objects to use at their own discretion regardless of how the woman may feel. These men feel entitled to womens' bodies, time, and attention. You can see that in every aspect of society, in the way women are treated in the workplace and how womens' issues in society are either ignored or dismissed.

For example, did your gf go to the police? If she did, how did they treat the assault?

If she did not, was it because she knew how her assault would have been treated?

Ask her if you really want to gain a better understanding of what life is like for women.

An old romantic trope in manga and dramas in Japan is a man hugging a woman from behind. So, it could be from that. Or, maybe it's just an easy way to grab breasts with your face hidden from identification.

Another one is when the woman has her back against a wall, and the man almost pins her there, putting one or both arms up against the wall, and he declares his love.

Personally, I find both tropes kinda cringey, especially the latter. But, the weird thing is many women actually find them romantic, probably due to indoctrination from TV, movies, and manga.

My girl is Japanese and has big t*dd**s and told me this has happened to her before, too, while in high school and as recently as a couple of years ago in a train station at the ticket machine. It's happened so some of her friends and they all say sexual assaults have been happening in Japan for decades so it's nothing new. I was surprised when I first heard this. They just try their hardest to avoid it whenever possible and make themselves look less attractive to perverts. If someone is already stressed; then add sexual frustration to the mix, he or she is bound to eventually snap if they don't have a healthy outlet to release tensions.
