Man arrested for armed robbery at convenience store in Chiba

Police in Chiba said Monday they have arrested a 48-year-old unemployed man for threatening a Lawson convenience store employee with a knife, and then stealing over 70,000 yen.

According to police, police received a call early Sunday morning from the convenience store employee, reporting that a drunken man had fallen asleep in the store and won't wake up. Fuji TV quoted police as saying that the man, identified later as Sumio Arakawa, awoke and threatened the store clerk with a knife, yelling, "I'm robbing you! Give me all your money!"

Police arrived at the scene and apprehended the suspect just outside the store in Wakaba Ward as he was heading back to his nearby apartment. According to police, Arakawa was extremely intoxicated during the incident and has denied all charges, saying only, " I don't know what you're talking about."

"I was drunk and don't remember!" Ha ha! There's a slap on the wrist for another violent criminal. The staff should have called the cops straight away instead of trying to wake up the fool.

Ah yeah, another one of those master criminals apprehended. This guy is dumber than a stump and now he will have to pay for his stupidity the hard way.
