Man arrested for assaulting mother, 6-year-old son on street

Police in Matsuda, Chiba Prefecture, said Monday they have arrested a 31-year-old unemployed man on suspicion of assaulting a 31-year-old woman and her six-year-old son as they walked along a street.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Fuji TV reported that the woman and her son were on a sidewalk when the man walked up behind them quickly and said they were in the way and to move aside.

The man then beat the woman about the head and kicked her son in the face.

About 90 minutes later, he turned himself in at a police box. Police said he has been rambling incomprehensibly and that a check on him showed that he had a history of mental illness.

Police said the mother and son sustained some bruises but were otherwise not seriously injured.

This is very scary, I feel so sorry for this poor mother and her son, this kind of crazy fool needs to be LOCKED UP and if he is still violent and or delusional, make sure to keep this individual LOCKED UP and perhaps throw away the key!!!

@kaimycagi,

Good post. Unfortunately the government doesn’t give two hoots about its populace as can be seen at its glacial pace of vaccination rollout.

Japan is still very much feudal and the ‘daimyo’ view the rank and file has nothing but canon fodder and when the weaker ones inevitably fall to the wayside only as collateral damage.

Lots of mental illness in Japan these days…

This place does feel like a open asylum in some areas as it literally is.

Agree 100%

Japan is actually a dangerous place due to all the mental sickness from over study, over work and lack of free time, space and true laughter along with expressing yourself! I see a lot of whack jobs walking on the streets!

Hit the nail on the head Steve! Well said!

@purple_depressed_bacon I agree with you! Japan tends to do little or anything about people who suffer from any type of disability. I would want to believe that the government knows the country has a serious issue with depression its obvious by looking at the number of suicide that take place in the country, that in itself is proof they know. With that say this guy will fall by the way side like many others. I agree lets hope he gets some help.

Another shining example of how Japan always has and probably always will ignore mental health issues running rampant through its society. I hope this guy gets the help he needs but I doubt it.

Lock the loony in the psychiatric ward for the rest of his life

Yes. Or - and here's a radical idea - they could treat his very obvious mental illness. Of course, locking him up and throwing away the key would be the easy thing to do. So we'll do that then, shall we...?

This guy commits the same act then strangely reports himself to the police box which checks and finds he has a history of mental illness. LMFAO I am confused he can't be that mentally ill knowing he is committing crimes and turning himself in for doing them.

I saw a Japanese guy arguing with his woman outside of their (?) apartment building. He got so mad that he smashed and shattered the whole front glass of the door entrance.

If somebody makes you that angry and you start busting stuff up, then it's probably because of you and it's time to move on.

Unfortunately with COVID restrictions and effects, more and more people will lose it.

And now the mother and son will have to get tested for possible CoVid exposure. I hope that cretin is happy.

Recently i was walking down the street when I saw a Heavy duty truck cab pulling out, I stopped about 5 meters before approaching it. I noticed how angrily he was yelling at cars to go ahead so he could come out.

So I waited until his light turned red, then as I passed by him and he began to rev his diesel engines full force making such loud noises, i thought the cab engine was going to throw a rod through the firewall and go through his upper body. He did this intense engine rev- ving for at least 4 mins. The security guard across the street was surprised and scared, and soon looked the other way. He continued for a while after I was out of sight; I could still hear it.

Guaranteed jgov will sweep this under the carpet and not address mental health issues which is so prevalent in Japan.
