Man arrested for assaulting, robbing visually impaired woman

Police in Ome, Tokyo, have arrested a 61-year-old man on suspicion of assaulting and robbing a visually impaired woman in her 70s who lives in the same apartment building.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 3:30 p.m. on Feb 14, Sankei Shimbun reported. Takayuki Oyama, of no fixed occupation, is accused of forcing his way into the woman’s apartment. He bound her hands and feet, put a sweater over her head and then stole about 40,000 yen and two cash cards from the woman.

The woman told police Oyama, whose voice she recognized, threatened to kill her if she contacted them.

The woman was able to free herself and call 110. Police said an analysis of nearby surveillance camera footage showed Oyama using the ATM cards and he was arrested on Thursday.

Oyama was quoted by police as saying he need money to pay back a home loan.

No mention he was wearing a mask or his face was covered?

She was visually impared. It didn't really matter in that case and she recognized his voice anyway.

So Oyama needed to pay some loan sharks? His problems have just multiplied now! Big Dummy!

The good news is he won’t be needing his home since he’ll be going to jail...hopefully.
