Punishment in kind?

Give this kid a MEDAL! Who knows how long she had witnessed this until she had a breaking point to do what her mother was probably too afraid to do for fear of the backlash! I commend her bravery! I feel proud for her because who knows, she could've saved her mothers life on that day!

This is odd news. There must be dozens of similar cases of DV every day in Japan, so why was this reported?

Wonder what the argument was about.

She could have also be inflicting emotional abuse on him. Probably, he's busy out working hard on the road and comes home to an argument all the time. Lots of unknowns here, and he did admit to hitting her, but would never say the wife has been attacking him mentally for years. Lots of this kind of abuse happens in Japan.
Just giving another plausible side to the argument.
