A 46-year-old man employed by the Konosu City government in Saitama Prefecture has been arrested for assaulting a woman in a car parking lot.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 1 a.m. on Wednesday. Fuji TV reported that Ken Kokubo allegedly assaulted the 31-year-old woman who was in her car in a parking lot in Kitamoto City. The woman told police that Kokubo, whom she does not know, approached her car and suddenly yanked open the driver’s seat door. He grabbed her by the shoulders and tried to drag her out of the car.

A 22-year-old man passing by heard the woman yell out and managed to subdue Kokubo after a chase of about 100 meters.

Police said Kokubo had a previous arrest record for groping a woman on a train in 2014. After that incident, he was suspended from his job for three months.

10% of all rapes occur in either a parking garage or a parking lot. His intentions are clear.

Ok where are all the media and protesters? hmmm I guess this crime doesn't count since it doesn't involve someone linked to a US base.

Is a three month suspension from work a criminal sentence? What's he gonna get this time? Another three month suspension? This loon has serious issues and should serve jail time as punishment and also receive counselling and treatment for his mental illness. I hate to think what would have happened if he got the girl out of the car.

Kudos to the guy who rescued the woman, and I assume the attacker will be officially unemployed after this incident..

Since this occurred at 1 a.m., he was most likely drunk. This loser is pathetic.

You assume too much. After all, it is Japan. He did not lose his job in 2014.

@Disillusioned

Before you jump to conclusions, he was previously arrested, not convicted. And no, a three month work suspension is not a criminal sentence. But you know that. And "counselling and treatment"?! Haha, right ... and let's let him play golf in between his couch sessions as well. You know, to make sure he's "treated".

@ Vernie

"I assume the attacker will be officially unemployed after this incident" What is it they say about assumption... the mother of all .......

The only job he should have is making license plates like they do here in prison.

Recidivism. Keep him away for good before he gets on a higher scale: murder.
