A 64-year-old man who attacked his nextdoor neighbor with a knife has been arrested in Kawaguchi, Saitama Prefecture, police said Sunday.

Police said that on the evening of Jan 7, Shingo Tatsui went to the apartment nextdoor and stabbed the 70-year-old occupant with a knife. TV Asahi reported that it was not until Sunday morning that the victim contacted police.

Police said the victim received knife wounds to his chest but his condition is stable.

Tatsui was quoted by police as saying that he had become fed up with constantly hearing his neighbor pound on the floor.

The police do very little in these circumstances until the worst happens....

Our oyaji neighbour was trying to bully us, and my wife called the cops. He's been meek as a lamb ever since.

Japan is indeed becoming crime ridden and Saitama is the crime capital of the country.

This is very dangerous behavior of our neighbors. They sometimes go beyond rational behavior .....¿how to live in peaceful enviroment?

I remember when big foot lived in the unit above our. It was so annoying. And if you complained, they would make it worse on purpose. Now It is noise but within our own unit, so it is shooganai.

Avigator. People have to live, and there is no choice but to be squeezed into these little rabbit hutches. Kids run, people exercise. If you cant tolerate noise might I suggest not living where there is someone above, below and either side of you.

It had to be Saitama didn't it!

Japanese apartments / houses are so flimsy & fragile. This problem will never be solved.
