Police in Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture, have arrested a 40-year-old unemployed man on suspicion of attempting to kill his 46-year-old brother and his 73-year-old mother at their home.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 5:35 p.m. Saturday, Sankei Shimbun reported. Police said Katsunori Yui stabbed his brother in the head and slashed his mother in the face with a knife after an argument in the living room. Yui’s mother was able to call 110 and told police her son had stabbed his brother, before she was attacked.

Police said the two victims were taken to hospitals and said their wounds were not life-threatening.

Yui was detained at the scene when police arrived.

@maria

don't judge him unless you’ve been in his shoes.

My wife’s brother kicked us out of her family home for no reason other than he wanted to stake his claim. We had been living there for 7 years looking after her father, who didn’t argue - so move out we did.

Most families ain’t the Brady Bunch

Ibaraki seems to have a lot of these sort of events recently.

Japan does not have as a harmonious and peace loving society as they try to portray... Now you might understand why there are no guns allowed here, if they were it would be worse than in Mexico.

I hope you aren't making this conclusion entirely illogically by basing it on the number of articles you read in the news.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that there is some actual logic behind this statement.

So how harmonious do the Japanese 'try to portray' their society? And where are they doing this?

What kind of monster would try to kill the woman who gave him life, and the man he grew up with - his closest kin? Unspeakable wickedness. I hope they lock him up and throw away the key. Hanging's too good for him.
