A 61-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after he beat a 68-year-old woman who works at a Tokyo real estate company with whom he was having trouble over unpaid rent.
According to police, Nobuharu Suganuma attacked the woman as she rode her bike to work at around 9:30 a.m. on June 20 in Shinagawa Ward, Fuji TV reported. Police said the woman was hit several times from behind by a blunt object. She suffered a depressed skull fracture.
Suganuma, who was identified through street surveillance camera footage, has admitted to the charge and was quoted as saying he was being harassed by the real estate company because he was in arrears with his rent. He said the woman would visit his apartment each month, pressuring him to pay the full amount.
Police said Suganuma had been living in an apartment managed by the real estate company for the past 10 years. He was supposed to pay 70,000 yen a month but had only been paying 51,000 yen a month recently.

Guess he'll never have to pay rent again. How did he think violence would solve this?

Um. Sounds like real estate company employees have to risk their lives on the job. Hope she completely recovers from her depressed skull fracture.

"How did he think violence would solve this?"
many suffer from temporary insanity-with built up pique, having been disillusioned by obsolete mores, folkways, etc., along with parsimonious attributes and a crumbling erudition, thus in such cases tumult actions instantly appear as countenance.

Poor devil, probably only could afford 51,000 yen a month, too bad he could not have opened a gofundme account.
