Police in Kaizu, Gifu Prefecture, said Saturday they have arrested a 35-year-old man on suspicion of assaulting his six-year-old stepson by hitting him with a baseball bat.
According to police, the suspect beat the boy on the head and face with the bat at their home at around 8:30 p.m. on Sept 13, Sankei Shimbun reported. A teacher at the boy’s school noticed the bruises the next day and the school contacted the police.
The boy was taken to hospital where doctors said his injuries will take about two weeks to heal.
Police said the suspect, who works for a train car manufacturing company, has admitted hitting his stepson, and quoted him as saying he did it to discipline the boy.
His wife, whom he married April, has another son, aged eight. Police said the man’s wife told them he has hit his stepsons before.

With a baseball bat? Are you insane?

The man talks about "disciplining" the boy, but lacks the intelligence and self-awareness to see that his own behaviour demonstrates an utter lack of self-discipline.

How many positive votes for a bit of baseball bat discipline for the stepfather.

Nothing like teaching discipline with a baseball bat. He is insane, perhaps displaying acting as a role model would be more appropriate other than violence. But that might be too much of a mind streach for someone who needs a bat to discipline a child.

Yep, beat him with his own bat.

He's a little kid for God's sake. No need to hit him at all.

What a way to win the heart of your new stepchildren. Reading these stories about bad stepdads, why don't women choose the right partner for the sake of their kids? It should be the number one priority.

The mother should be charged with neglect. She has continually put her children in a life-threatening situation by being around this man and didn't even call police when he beat her son with a baseball bat! That's unacceptable.

The infamous plea of innocence in Japan; "I did it because he needs it"
Human garbage.
