Saitama is the Florida of Japan...

Saitama is Saitama and Florida is Florida.

A lot of petty crime and skirmishes here and there in Saitama but nowhere near Florida.

Unless you read in the news that a Saitama Man was tasered by police after being caught chewing on his neighbor's face, Saitama will never reach Florida's level.

This is what social isolation and draconian measures due to people, total breakdown in society.

Regardless if it was his intent to kill or not, I hope the attempted murder charges stick. I don't often see attempted murder charges getting more than a few months (often you don't hear about the sentencing at all), but it's better than nothing. Then maybe Saito can bump into some of his own medicine in prison. The inmates can just say they didn't attempt to kill him -- just mess him up.

I hope Mr. Saito gets a taste of his own medicine in jail.

How do the police know what is life threatening or not?

Beating an eighty year old around the head could cause death by shock, hemorrhage, clotting.

The police are not doctors...

Did this human think that what he did would solve anything?

he forgot to say he was drunk

Should he have lied and told them he was, if he wasn't?

Let "their" system handle it like they always claim.

What this misses is why he did this cowardly thing. Not very manly of him, regardless of the motive.
