Police have arrested a 24-year-old man on suspicion of assault after he beat a 15-year-old girl with an extendable baton in front of JR Utsunomiya Station in Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture. The girl had been assisting a woman who became sick and vomited while aboard a bus.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 6:50 p.m. on Monday in front of JR Utsunomiya Station, Fuji TV reported. Police said Yuta Taguchi, a self-professed company worker, was riding on the same bus as the girl and the woman, who became ill and vomited on him. When the girl escorted the sick woman off the bus and into the station to assist her to get some water, Taguchi followed them and hit the girl with a baton.
The girl sustained a one-inch cut along her forehead.
Police said Taguchi has admitted to the charge and quoted him as saying he got angry after seeing the girl act kindly toward the woman.

Sometimes you just despair about people

Wow, big man beating up a high school girl for simply being a nice person.
Guy sounds like a sociopath.

Sick guy, lock him up for as long as possible. Hope she get better soon.

Lonely, cruel people hate seeing others be kind or happy. It reminds them of their own misery.

I know every time I leave the house, I have an extendable baton with me. Right along with my wallet, keys and phone.
Seriously, why was this guy carrying an extendable baton?!

summed it up perfectly.

How does a person become so angry and evil?
Random
Kindness will not be tolerated!

"Yuta Taguchi, a self-professed company worker,"

The woman must have been seriously ill, it's extremely unusual for someone particularly a woman to vomit on a random person in public, on a bus. Not nice to be vomited on, granted. Particularly when you have an extendable baton in your pocket. And then to see a junior, a "girl" at that actually not just look at her phone but step in and help! How infuriating. She should have helped him, wiped him down and told him how brave he is? That was her mistake. Forget the the lady vomiting he is a male that has been wronged. Must teach the high school student priority, her place! I have a baton, I have a female. Smack. The girl deserves a public service medal, the woman who vomited on this jerk an award too.

The woman was sick, but the man is sick.

I am very proud of this 15 year old teen. She is a credit to herself and her family.

I can only assume that there is a serious mental illness behind this.

Don't judge the entire human race based on this one guy's act.
Plus, you're completely ignoring the act of kindness described in this article. Such acts are performed countless times a day, and never make the news.
Lighten up and stop being such a pessimist.

Guy must have some serious mental issues...

Carl Jung would have had a field day in japan. Having that much self loathing and hate for the world that you lash out like this on a woman showing kindness to a stranger in need was just too much to bear.
He followed her.
Like in a shadow induced trance. The dark undercurrents, ever present always bubbling.

Everyday, everywhere.

What a nutcase. I'm glad they were able to arrest him quickly.

I wouldn't exactly be thrilled myself to be puked on, but that hardly merits beating someone with a baton over it.

15 years old ... so nice person
i hope she will get better soon

" . . . he got angry after seeing the girl act kindly toward the woman." ???!!!
WTF? Was he jealous?

ThonTaddeo, the mans surprise doesn’t mitigate following and brutalising the innocent girl. He may not have gone out planning to attack anyone but carrying a weapon would indicate an intention to use it.

The human race is doomed.
Zack
I would charge him with attempting murder just to extend his prison time.

Compelled to beat someone for showing empathy = total sociopath. Wiki offers a great summar of the characteristics of this type of mental illness. No doubt many of the wow crimes we read about here are a result of this condition.
Do the hustle
So, here’s another nutter carrying a weapon in public. Luckily, this one didn’t have a knife although, I’m pretty sure he would have had a knife in his kit as well.

No. The girl helped the woman.

I have this weapon in my bedroom. It is not allowed in japan to take outside your house. This would indicate intent or paranoia. If used correctly, these weapons can kill.

A lot of mentaly ill people walking free in JP instead of being locked in a looney house
They walk among us. Stay aware when out and about.

If only it was possible for the police to use violence on these people too. While he can't stand the girl being kind to others, I can't also stand he wasn't beat up for injuring that girl.
Cricky
Zack, me too. The caveat on that is when you live in a society lacking a functioning justice system and you look different you are guilty. No matter your good intentions. Just walk away let the locals look at their phones, it's just a no win situation to be involved at all.

Pride and self egoism...the most shameful venom in life displaying no mercy or compassion for your fellow neighbor. Looks like he valued his material possesion over the welfare and well being of a person. Sad and may GOD help us all because this is just the foot in the door.

Eye for an eye. Maybe harsh punishment doesn't deter crime, but if this creep got a few whacks it would make me feel better.
You'll be reading about this lowlife again in the future.

How can anyone fathom this ?

He should have been beaten too....
Or, the images of him in the violent action should be shown so that he be ashamed and reflects himself.

Too many self consumed people in the world.

Mental illness?
Giveme_abreak
Yes mental illness. Sad to say it's been going on. This came a surprise to me when couple of weeks ago I was using the ATM machine inside a drugstore, when this old man mumbled at me and said get out of his way that I was bothering him. I did not pay attention to him and tried to ignore him but he stick his face out and told me the same thing again! this time it creeped the hell out of me and I had to yell at him to stay away from me. Stay alert out there.
robotxparty
If anything, he should be mad at the woman who puked on him, not the girl who helped her. And the woman should offer him money for the vomit.
NCIS Reruns
Nobody likes to get barfed on. Instead of lashing out, the proper thing for the man to do would be to hold the bus company liable and expect them for dry cleaning his suit.
Every man dies, not every man really lives!

Punishment in kind, repeated once or twice a day, for a period of a couple years.
Disillusioned
Sorry, but just owning one indicates intent or paranoia. Why do you have it? And, why do you keep it in your bedroom? Are you afraid someone is going to break into your house and you need it to protect yourself? That is textbook paranoia! Then, you go on to state it could kill if used properly. That is a paranoid delusion. Perhaps you should look into counselling for your paranoid delusions.
The delusional psycho in the article also needs some counselling - while he is serving time in prison for attacking a defenseless young girl who was doing the right thing. Sadly though, I doubt if his punishment will match his crime. He should be charged with attempted murder.
ThonTaddeo
The story sort of buries it, but the sick girl vomited on him. So you can almost understand him getting upset as he stands there, covered in another person's vomit and possibly exposed to who-knows-what, while bystanders rush to assist the person who did the vomiting while ignoring him.
He was, of course, wrong to violently attack the bystander, but he had just sustained another kind of "attack" which no one seemed to care about. It should be a mitigating factor when his punishment is decided on.
