Police in Warabi, Saitama Prefecture, said Monday they have arrested a 40-year-old man on suspicion of beating his 39-year-old girlfriend to death.
According to police, the suspect, Tetsuyuki Yasuda, of no fixed occupation, beat his girlfriend Ayami Sugita in the face with both fists several times at their home at around 2 a.m. Sunday morning.
Yasuda and Sugita lived in the 3-story house with his parents and younger brother who called 119 after the assault. Yasuda was taken to hospital where she died shortly after arrival due to severe head injuries.
Police said Yasuda, who was drunk when they arrived, has admitted to the charge and quoted him as saying he hit Sugita after he lost his temper following an argument.

Being drunk is no excuse. Not for something like this. Put him away!

With the amount of crimes committed while people are under the influence of alcohol, I'm surprised there aren't stricter penalties for people who commit crimes while drunk. Case in point, this one!

He is not a man. He's just a cowardly thug that beats on women. I have no doubt this was not the first time he beat on her. An unemployed violent drunk that beats on women. Lock this loser up for a very very long time!

Tragic.
At least we have the relevant information about the suspect - age and occupation - needed to form opinions about this.

His Buddy Weiser and Johnny Walker and his brothers Black and Red are not to blame in this. they won't be around for him to lean on or hide with or hand around with when he's behind bars.
