Man arrested for cutting woman’s skirt from behind with scissors

Police in Kasama, Ibaraki Prefecture, have arrested a 56-year-old man on suspicion of property destruction after he used a pair of scissors to cut a 19-year-old woman’s skirt as she walked along a street.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 7 p.m. on July 23, Kyodo News reported. Police said Takayuki Kamimiya, a company employee, approached the woman from behind in front of JR Tomobe Station. He used scissors with an eight-centimeter-long blade to snip four centimeters off the woman’s skirt and ran away. The woman was not injured.

Police said Kamimiya, who was arrested Monday after an analysis of street surveillance camera footage, has admitted to the allegation.

Strange fetish.

Strange fetish.

Yes, a fetish, but it is sexual assualt, based on attacking a woman and humiliating her.

I still don't understand why people here do that. Weird indeed.

Yeah. That, and the panty-stealing thing. And, splashing/spraying "fluids" on random women.

the classic sneak attack.

Probably was used and abused as a child is the usual pathology

You can't make this stuff up. I would advise these guys to pay for kink services but I guess they wouldn't get as much of a thrill that way.

This is probably a stopgap measure so they could arrest him if he didn't actually tough their bodies, in the strictest sense. Remember that this is Japan, a country with a baffling legal system that often makes it difficult for cops to arrest people for the acts actually committed. They'll probably loo through the books to see what else they can get him while holding him.

It's not wild speculation

It's one person's experience. Maybe you just have the bad luck to run into a disproportionate number of perverts. Have you lived everywhere in Japan, at all times? One man's experience does not describe a country.

GOOD!

I do not know enough about the lifestyles of 50 something Japanese men that leads them to do things like that.

I doubt there is anything specifically about the lifestyles of 50-something Japanese men that would lead them to do that. Otherwise, there's be hundreds of thousands of 50-something Japanese men roaming the streets, cutting the skirts of young women.

Yeah its definitely a ****baffling legal system!

But on the other hand for non jn's, I read of a case where a gaigin in Tokyo asked a JN WTF are you staring at!; who was low key provoking trouble for no reason, mind you the gaigin was not touching anyone, etc., but got subsequently monitored and patrolled, followed on his street by the men in blue, for months.

You think that it's equally common in other nations

Huh? My point was that I don't know, so no, I don't think that. Nor do I disbelieve it. I'm not one to fall the low-intelligence illogical trap of thinking the number of articles I read on a matter is directly proportional to the amount I read about it in other nations based on the prevalence of said crime in each of these nations. I am logical enough to understand that some types of crimes hold more of a fascination culturally than others in various cultures, and those cultures are more likely to report on that crime than a country that has cultural fascinations with a different type of crime, you see.

The problem here is that you have decided that Japan absolutely is worse than other countries. I'm saying 'maybe it is, maybe it isn't, how do you know?', and your argument seems to be that you just know it. Or am I missing something? Any actual proof? Or have you just read a bunch of articles and decided that Japan must be worse?

Why scissors? Very dangerous. Just lift up her skirt and run away. Then arrested by surveillance cameras. Loser.

He didn't cut the skirt to see what was underneath. He cut the skirt specifically for the thrill of cutting the skirt. Causing the damage and retrieving a trophy was the whole point.

Property destruction? So if he folded it up to the hip without cutting then everything is fine? lol

Pathetic loser...

Okay that's weird.

"approached the woman from behind"

Creeper...Creep. Lock him away in padded room.

I don't know if to laugh or cry that something like this is happening in the 21st century.

Same time, I do not know enough about the lifestyles of 50 something Japanese men that leads them to do things like that.

Turns out I wasn't missing something:

Years of experience living and working in Japan and just being aware of the nature of sexuality in Japan. Talking to many people, learning about Japanese society, culture, crime and policing.

What a perv

This is exactly why I would be teaching my daughter how to fight and defend herself! Weirdos like him shouldn't be out walking around freely especially since its summer and women want to walk around in comfortable light clothes without creepos like this one out and about to prey!

Terrible news out of Japan once more. I hope the young girl is safe and doing well.
