Man arrested for drugging, robbing woman

Police in Tokyo said Monday they have arrested a man after he drugged a female acquaintance whom he owed money to, and then stole 350,000 yen in cash from her while she was passed out.

Police said the suspect, Teppei Nakayubi, 38, who is unemployed, was charged with robbing the 20-year-old woman while she was under an induced sleep at a hotel in Ota Ward in January, Fuji TV reported. Police said Nakayubi returned the 350,000 yen he owed the woman, but shortly thereafter, he managed to slip her a sleeping drug under the guise of some harmless vitamins. While she slept, he stole back all the money he had just returned to her.

Nakayubi told police that he needed the money.

Yeah, but how did she get the money in the first place? What does a young woman do to be able to earn that kind of money to lend out so easily. Now let me think...

You think the only way a young woman can earn enough money to live on and save is by working in the sex industry?

Ever held down 2 or 3 jobs? Ever scrimped and saved in order to have enough money for what's important to you? That's how most people live here - they work hard, so that they have something for their future and for a rainy day.

What job do you have that makes you think you're better than her or indeed any woman here?

This woman trusted this scuzzball enough to lend him any money - that was her only mistake.

Classy guy...borrowing money from a woman almost half his age, and not paying it back...what a swine!

I am speechless. ... What a swine is right...

@Fukuppy... I would hate to be as cynical as you appear to be.

This criminal is a real low life, what a creep.

Probably the "kanji" is not the same but to me "Nakayubi" sounds like she "got the finger"... This guy may be another victim of "abenomics"... (welcome to the club !)

Hmm, lets brainstorm together. When I was that age, I worked 54 hours a week to pay for my university tuition. I never lent someone that amount of money, but could definitely afford to help out a friend if I trusted them. I didnt need to, however, because all my girlfriends worked equally as hard as me.

By the way, in case you were wondering, I worked at a financial institution full-time during the week, and as a lifeguard at a condo building on weekends.

We`ve come a long way, baby...

Dumb or what?

How could he have thought he could get away with this transparent rouse?

Fleas like him deserve long prison time getting IQ help.

I humbly agree with you both on this one, Teppei Nabayuki had no right to do that to her, and if he really needed the money then he should have found a good paying job like the rest of us; NOT going around slipping sleeping pills to people he owes money to. Let me put it in another way; if I was in his shoes at all, then I would have told her: "Look, I know I owe you money, so can I pay it off in installments when I find a job?" That way, I would get the money ready in seven installments of 50,000 yen per pay period, and be done with it.

Then again; I'm NOT Japanese, so I wouldn't understand.

Failing anything else, how the merry hell did he expect to get away with it?

Fukuppy, please read the story slowly and write comment again once you understand the report.

Yes, she IS a hostess in case anyone was still not sure.

I agree, what's up with that name. There are occasionally really weird lasts names in Japan, but that sounds like a not very convincing pseudonym.

Why go through the trouble?

But, if like to know why the woman was silly enough to lend him the money in the first place. This kind of drugging and theft is the lowest act I can think of and I hope he is given a severe punishment for it.

Great story. They both sound like pretty dumb people.
