Police in Atami, Shizuoka Prefectural, have arrested a 24-year-old unemployed man on suspicion of murder after he stabbed his neighbor’s friend outside their apartment following a noise dispute.
According to police, the suspect stabbed a 36-year-old male restaurant worker from Mishima City at around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, lock media reported. Sources told reporters that the victim, later pronounced dead at a hospital, was visiting a friend who lives in the apartment.
It is believed that a noise dispute occurred between the suspect and victim, resulting in him being stabbed in the abdomen with a knife near the stair landing.

Monster neighbors are real and way too common.

Just call the police. Been in that situation before. Within 20 minutes thry arrived and before intervening, asked md if I'd like to remain anonymous. I agreed and they took care of it. Never had an issue again.
No need to murder your neighbour over these things.

I thought this was the stabbing I saw on Japanese TV this morning. But this is a new stabbing between neighbors?!

Seriously there is some real lunacy amongst many Japanese over these noise disputes!
Just call the cops

This is such a noisy country and I understand the stress building up from these continual noisy incidents, but to resort to violence is awful.

Overall... a very safe place but there is a lot of pent up anger and frustration lying just below the surface. Most of it never sees the light of day, but every once in awhile the perfect storm erupts.

Why did such a thing for killing your neighbor over the noise? Im sure they were not laughing hard or yelling?

Most unfortunate tragedy. The victim was likely very deaf and did not hear how loud the noise he made was. And the man sho stabbed him to death was too sensitive to prolonged loud noise especially when it was rock music turned on very loud. May the judge who judges him bear in mind the above circumstances before he pronounces judgement.
