Man arrested for fatally stabbing Filipino woman

Police on Friday arrested a 45-year-old unemployed man on suspicion of killing a 48-year-old Filipino woman, in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture.

According to police, Yasumasa Yamaguchi stabbed his former girlfriend, Rowena Haga, at around 11:20 p.m. Thursday in a Japanese pub in Naka Ward, Fuji TV reported. The pub owner called 110 to report that a customer had been stabbed.

Haga was taken to hospital with stab wounds to her chest and legs but died shortly after arrival.

Yamaguchi fled the scene in a car but was picked up by police four hours later, walking along a street about two kilometers from the pub.

Police said Haga had filed a complaint with them about Yamaguchi in June after she told him she wanted to end their relationship, and he was given a warning to stay away from her. Police said they do not know why Haga was with Yamaguchi in the pub on Thursday night and are questioning him about the circumstances.

The pub, which Yamaguchi and Haga often went to, is located about 400 meters west of JR Hamamatsu Station.

Right, I can just imagine the conversation;

"Hey Yasau, look, you scare her, try to stay away ok? Hell if you are just looking for some fun, go check out the show club down the street. Ok? Try to stay away?"

Yasu: Right! Thanks.....

Keystones; (Rubbing their pates and sucking their teeth) Damn, WE warned the guy? What the hell did he want with her anyway? Go figure!

I don't know why you are making fun of the police. The victim filed a complaint and they issued a warning, which is what they are required to do by law.

However, for reasons we don't yet know, she went to that pub with him on Thursday night. That is not the police's fault, nor could they have prevented it.

Yet another misanthropic man who couldn't take no for an answer. Unfortunately for her, she picked the wrong boyfriend (customer?).

It is so weird that unemployed men in Japan seems to be a significant common denominator with these crimes of passion. An idle mind......

Well said strangerland. Not only is it bad enough that the poor woman has been murdered but the armchair judges suggest that the guy was her "client", based on what? The fact that she was Filipino? Not only jumping to conclusions but disrespectful in the extreme

As a friend of mine told me about a nice guy he knew who'd committed a horrible crime: "You never know what's in a man's heart."

Death penalty awaits him.

Unfortunately, the police can only warn a psycho to leave a woman alone. This scenario seems to repeat itself way too often. "If I can't have you, nobody else will!" It is not specific to Japan either. Another senseless death at the hands of a psycho jilted lover. Sad!

@ designer and bungle - seems like you two guys better look inward before you jump to conclusions about what I'm thinking. Because I mentioned the word customer you guys think I meant she was a prostitute just because she's a Filipina? Seems like you guys are the ones being disrespectful. Do you guys even live in Japan? You should know that it's a widespread industry in Japan for women who are not prostitutes to bring men to clubs and split the earnings with the club's owner.

I'm guessing this guy spent so much money he felt he was entitled to go a step further, and she told him no. And he couldn't take no for an answer.

He is unemployed. I wonder where he gets the money he's spending 'for her'.
