A 30-year-old man was arrested on Sunday for stabbing his 33-year-old sister to death at their home in Hachioji, Tokyo, police said Monday.
Takeshi Oniwa was arrested for allegedly stabbing his sister Kazue in the face and neck with a knife around 6:20 p.m. Their mother found Kazue bleeding in her room on the second floor of the house. The father called police, but the suspect fled the house. He was arrested after he showed up at a local police box at JR Nishi-Hachioji station at 7:30 p.m.
Police said the four have recently been discussing whether the suspect should be hospitalized at a mental institution.

Ummm... JT... Isn't Hachioji is a city, isn't it???

They shouldn't discus anything. If they noticed that his marbles are mixed they should just sent him to metal hospital. With such people the longer you wait the worth they will get. This is an example for people what they should do in such circumstances. It is very strange that he showed up in police station. Perhaps he isn't metal at all, and could as well be on drugs or alcohol.

Japanese homes have become more dangerous than the streets themselves.

Well he is going to an institution now (i hope)
timeon
yep, it's called prison (I hope)

It could be worst. But I hope something is worked out about the increase of crime in Japan. And that guy is crazy don't need to ask at all!

the FOUR have been discussing???
"Well son, the three of us agree that you are too deficient to operate in normal society, so we think it's best to stick you in the living hell of a Japanese Mental House. What do you think?"

Yet another murder within a family. What's the average? 1 or 2 a week?
bobbafett
Well there was no discussion. They should have taken him there. Now the parents lose both children. Useless.

In the face and the neck? Poor girl. It's not the most painful death, but bleeding out is a tragic way to go, especially if she tried to stop the bleeding but couldn't. Well, looks like another problem that needs to be solved with the death penalty. Not too many problems that can't be solved with the death penalty.

Dont know about that. The appalling crime figures in the US may say otherwise. Violence begets violence, whether committed by individuals or by the State.
Moderator: Stay on topic please. The U.S. is not relevant to this discussion.

maybe, it was not the first and the only duscussion of this problem by them. and maybe they have been starting this after some alike incidents, but without such tragic consequences.

Proffessor... Thanks... I had pointed out that JT posted the story headline as Hachioji WARD. They later changed the headline to Tokyo...

Is Hachioji going to become a "Little Saitama?"
