Police in Fukuoka have arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of committing an obscene act in violation of public nuisance laws after he installed a tiny spy camera in the toilet of a convenience store last October.
According to police, Yuichiro Nakao, who is a company employee, has admitted to the charge. He was quoted as saying he planted the camera because he got a thrill out of seeing women naked and their underwear.
Police said that Nakao planted the camera with a 5-millimeter lens in the toilet of the convenience store in Fukuoka’s Nishi Ward last Oct 24. The camera, which was attached to a battery by a thin cord, was connected wirelessly to Nakao’s smartphone. He told police he later uploaded the footage to a website where he sold it.
A convenience store employee found the camera while cleaning the toilet.
Police said they found nine other spy cameras when they searched Nakao’s residence and are questioning him on where else he has planted the cameras in the past.© Japan Today
