Police in Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture, on Saturday arrested a 29-year-old man on suspicion of property destruction after he kicked and smashed the glass door of a koban (police box) on Friday night.

The incident occurred at around 11:30 p.m. Friday, Aomori Broadcasting Corp reported. Police said Kenta Tanabe, a construction worker, kicked the automatic door of the koban, smashing the glass. At the time, there were no police officers at the koban; they were out on patrol.

Hachinohe Police Station received a call from a member of the public saying that a man had kicked the koban door. Tanabe was identified from security camera footage in the area and arrested early Saturday morning.

Police said that Tanabe was intoxicated when arrested.

The guys name is not Tanabe, but Tanabu, which is a very common name in Hachinohe.

If he doesn't remember anything, do you think he should lie, and pretend he does?
