Police in Akita city have arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of kidnapping and sexually molesting an 8-year-old girl.
According to police, Sho Koshiyama, a company employee from Akita City, lured the girl into his car at around 5 p.m. on July 25 in a residential area for the purpose of committing lewd acts against her, Sankei Shimbun reported.
Police said Koshiyama did not know the girl and that he dropped her off after keeping her in his car for several hours. The girl’s parents had alerted police after she failed to return home on time that afternoon.

If the government won't do it, someone (a private citizen) should aggregate news articles such as this one and make a database of their own. Just register the domain in Estonia or something and you're set. Protecting the human rights of the offenders ... please.

For the millionth time - establish a sex offenders register.

Disillusioned: There was an NHK article about this recently. Someone mentioned that the government avoids creating a Western style sex offender's register for fear of offending the offenders' human rights. Obviously, I shouted "what about the children's human rights!?!?" at the screen.

Japan definitely needs to create a national child sex offender's list on a public domain. If it were up to me, I would tattoo 'child sex offender' right across their forehead. That would be after cutting off their nads, of course.

Can someone tell what kind of sentencing this type of suspect gets? Seems like we never hear about what happens unless murder is involved.

Imprisonment and castration, then be electronically monitored for the rest of his life. That's the only way to really send a message to these creeps

Glad she's okay. This could have turned out much worse. Lock this sick bastard up until he's so old he has no more urges.
