Police on Sunday night arrested a 42-year-old man for killing his 72-year-old father at their house in Nerima Ward, Tokyo.
Masaru Sugimura, 42, was arrested for allegedly beating and stabbing his father, Toru, 72, to death around Friday afternoon and Saturday evening. The suspect was found and arrested by police near Kamishakuji station on Sunday morning.
According to police investigations, the victim had been beaten to the face and stabbed in the neck with a pair of scissors. The victim was found by one of his grandchildren, a child of the suspects sister, in his room on the second floor of the house at around 5 p.m. on Saturday.
The suspect has admitted the allegations. Police are continuing their investigations to ascertain a motive for the crime.© Japan Today
